A Brief History of Carpets by Otto  

Carpets by Otto is a family-owned flooring store that was started in 1969 by Otto & Dee Weik. In 2023, their daughter Kelly and son-in-law Michael have taken over operations to continue 54 years in business. It has been our honor as a family to serve the local community and support various events and charities.

In the mid-1960s, Otto was a janitor who cleaned carpets. Over time he realized that his customers needed better quality carpet rather than continuous cleanings. He and his wife, Dee, rented a U-Haul truck and drove to the carpet mills in Dalton, Georgia to buy some carpet, and Carpets by Otto was born! He continued to sell carpets from his car and eventually had his first showroom in Toledo, Ohio. The hard work back then from the husband and wife team resulted in such success that it continues today. Carpets by Otto has grown over the years and we truly have the best in the business on our team.
